First Store Opens in New Mixed-Use Complex

HOLMDEL, NJ - Barnes & Noble, which is occupying 24,500 sf, relocated to the Denholzt/Zaro Commons at Holmdel from its existing store just across the highway.

HOLMDEL, NJ – Barnes & Noble, the book purveyor, has opened its new 24,500-sf store at The Commons at Holmdel, a 235,000-sf retail center currently being developed by Denholtz Associates of Rahway, NJ and The Zaro Group of Red Bank, NJ. Barnes & Noble is the first tenant to open in a complex that will eventually include Linens ‘N Things, Old Navy, The Vitamin Shoppe, Houlihans, Pier 1 Imports and Best Buy.

The shopping center is part of a 127-acre master planned, mixed-use development that will eventually add office, assisted living, nursing home and active adult residential uses to the mix (see earlier stories). Lance Blake of Rotwein & Blake Associated Architects and Julius Szalay of Menlo Engineering are the lead designers for the development.
