ProLogis is providing design-build services for Coors. The projects will be completed next spring. Coors Distributing will own the facility, which will replace its current 80,000-sf facility on the other side of I-70 in Denver.
The current facility is listed for sale by the Staubach Co. The new facility will be served by rail, eliminating the cost of trucking its products from trains to its distribution center.
"This agreement represents a part of our business that many people are just becoming aware of -- providing development and construction expertise on a design-build basis to respond to the needs of customers who prefer to own their facilities," says Arthur Morton, vice president and Denver market officer for ProLogis. "And, as a Colorado-based company ourselves, we're proud Coors chose us to be their partner on this project."
.Earlier, ProLogis developed a 200,000-sf distribution facility in Golden for the Rocky Mountain Bottle Co., which is a joint venture of Owens-Brockway Glass Container Co. and Coors Brewing Co.
"Working on this second project for Coors has been exciting," says Jeff Todd, vice president and project manager for ProLogis. "The advanced features of the facility will allow us to take full advantage of the breadth of experience of the ProLogis development team."
