BURNSVILLE, MN-A Metropolitan Council committee says it wants a written agreement from the developers of the proposed Black Dog Amphitheater to ensure sounds from the Burnsville site will not affect neighboring areas. The conditions include requiring the amphitheater meet state sound statutes, that attendance not exceed20,000 and that an 11 p.m. curfew be set for all events.

The $10-million, 19,500-seat is the center of controversy, especially among residents of nearby Bloomington, MN, who fear the amphitheater will generate unwanted noise and air pollution and traffic congestion. The Metropolitan Significance Review Committee met late last week to render findings, conclusions and recommendations to the fullMetropolitan Council on the metropolitan significance of the proposed Black Dog Amphitheater in Burnsville.

The committee wants its lawyer to review a list of conditions with the amphitheater’s developers before it makes any recommendations.
