Peek Traffic looked at several cities for its US headquarters and settled on the Manatee County area, where the company will have access to international trade, as well as the necessary pool of potential employees. "(Peek Traffic) chose the West Coast of Florida to base its new US operation for several reasons," R.R. Simmons CEO Randy Simmons explains to GlobeSt.com. "Reasons included the established workforce and affordable facility cost, but more importantly is the potential access to the emerging Latin American markets. The Bay area is becoming a hub for accessing Central and South America."

The two-story facility will be home to Peek Traffic's engineering and manufacturing departments, US administrative headquarters and a training-and-product demonstration area. "Peek recognized the need for a rapid delivery of the new facility and was impressed by the track record of Simmons as a design-builder to meet their compressed schedule," Simmons adds. "Providing both the design and construction through their internal resources allowed the pre-construction process to be significantly shortened." The expected completion date for the project was not disclosed.
