14,000-SF Building, Land Sold for Police Headquarters

VANCOUVER, WA-The City of Vancouver authorizes the acquisition of a former state patrol compound from the state Department of Transportation for $1.7 million, and plans to spend another $420,000 on renovations.

VANCOUVER, WA-A larger headquarters building is in the works for an overcrowded Vancouver Police Department following the City Council’s authorization last week to purchase for $1.7 million the former Washington State Patrol compound at 605 Evergreen Blvd.

The purchase, from the state Department of Transportation, includes a fuel depot and a vehicle-impound lot. The City plans to spend an additional $420,000 on renovations to the building. It also plans to generate some revenue by leasing a communications tower on the site.
