Discount Retailer Marks Dual Openings in 24,182 SF

AUSTIN-A new retailer opens its doors in Austin, selecting 10,638 sf at Riverside Place Shopping Center and 13,544 sf at Southridge Plaza. One Dollar Deals is part of a growing network of similarly priced discount merchandisers targeting Texas markets.

AUSTIN-One Dollar Deals, a retailer specializing in merchandise priced at $1 dollar, has entered the Austin market, taking more than 24,000 sf at strip centers in the city’s southeast and south submarkets.

It leased 10,638 sf at Riverside Place Shopping Center at 2410 E. Riverside Dr. and 13,544 at Southridge Plaza, situated at the intersection of William Cannon Boulevard and South First Street. RPSC owns Riverside Plaza and Weingarten Realty of Dallas is Southridge’s property owner. David Simmonds and Terri Twomey, both with the commercial retail division of Dallas-based Weitzman Group, handled negotiations for One Dollar Deals. The retailer offers a wide range of merchandise, including toys, health and beauty aids, hardware, seasonal and gift items, bath accessories, hair goods and socks for women and children, batteries and more.
