VA Hospital Getting $160-Mil Expansion

DURHAM, NC-LCOR, a Berwyn, PA-based developer and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs plan to build private-sector medical office buildings, research labs, administrative office space, a retail center and a residential facility at the Durham VA medical center.

DURHAM, NC – The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and LCOR of Berwyn, PA are jointly working on a $160 million project to expand the Durham, NC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, creating a City of Medicine Center mixed-use campus on the VA hospital property.

When finished, the expansion will be the largest new VA public-private project of its kind, according to a prepared statement from the VA.

The City of Medicine Center will comprise private-sector medical office buildings, research labs, commercial and educational administrative office space, a retail center and a residential facility. The total square footage wasn’t disclosed.
