LANGLEY PARK, MD-With the closing of its Langley Park community location at 8016 New Hampshire, the Goodwill store leaves the area after nine years. Langley Center property owners did not renew the store’s lease, which was originally attained at a bargain-basement rate in a bankruptcy deal with the previous tenant.

Davis Memorial Goodwill Industries of Washington, DC operated the Langley store. Speaking to the local press, Davis Memorial spokeswoman Donna Anderson explains, “we couldn’t renegotiate an affordable lease that would have made it profitable for us to stay.” She adds, “it would have been substantially more expensive [than the previous lease].”
