Sage specializes in the operations, development and capital transactions of hospitality real estate. Sage owns and operates 96 hotels in 29 states, ranging from large, urban,full-service hotels to smaller, limited-service suburban properties. Isenberg directs all company operations, including hotel development, asset management and property management.

Isenberg replaces Al Timothy, vice president of public affairs for the Coors Brewing Co., as chairman of the bureau.

Isenberg will serve a two-year term as chairman.

"This is an exciting and challenging time to be in the travel industry and the bureau is dedicated to making 2002 one of the best years in the city's history," Isenberg says.

He notes that 2002 is on track to become the second best year in the bureau's history for the total number of room nights associated with convention bookings. The bureau has already booked 380,479 room nights for 2002. Based on previous years, the bureau expects to add up to an additional 50,000 room nights before the end of next year. The record was set in 1998 with 456,651 room nights.

Isenberg also noted two major events will take place in 2002: the ground-breaking on the $268-million expansion of the Colorado Convention Center and the hosting of the American Society of Association Executives annual meeting on August 17-20. Often called the "Super Bowl of the Convention Industry," the ASAE convention will bring 5,000 meeting planners to Denver.

Founded in 1909, the bureau is the sixth-oldest convention bureau in the US and is a non-profit trade association charged with marketing Denver as a convention and leisure destination. The bureau has more than 1,000 private business members and has a contract with the city and county of Denver to market the Colorado Convention Center. With a full-time staff of 50 and an annual budget of more than $7 million, the bureau is the largest tourism promotion agency in Colorado.

Isenberg and his partner, Zack Neumeyer, founded Sage in 1984.

Active in the community, Isenberg serves on the executive committees and boards of the University of Colorado Foundation; the Downtown Denver Partnership; Colorado Concern; Historic Denver Inc., and Mile High Child Care. He is a graduate of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
