SouthTrust Building 72,000-SF Operations Center in Cobb County

MARIETTA, GA-The Birmingham-based bank expects to complete construction on the 6.5-acre site by the end of June. The new facility is three miles from its current North Fulton County operations center.

Cost of the project was not disclosed but area construction industry estimators tell GlobeSt.com the final figure will be about $10 million or $125 per sf.

The new facility will mean a three-mile move for some 300 SouthTrust employees who have been working at the company's existing operations center on RiverEdge Parkway in north Fulton County.

The City of Marietta is contributing $125,000 toward the new facility The state is providing matching funds for site cleanup and development.
