"Each structure will contain 237,250 square feet of office space and will feature two story entry lobbies with Italian marble walls and floors," notes Carl Campos, president of the project's design firm of Loving & Campos Architects Inc. in Walnut Creek. The buildings' tenants will have a view of Sunvalley Shopping Center and most of the city.

The owner, Sierra pacific, which also owns the 600,000-sf Gateway Towers, Concord's largest office development, has yet to sign any tenants, but Sierra vice president Doug Messner doesn't seem worried. Scott Ellis, a senior veep with Colliers International, has the leasing assignment.

"While other communities have been hit with vacancies due to recent problems in the dot.com industry, we aren't seeing that here," says Messner, adding that the area's skilled and well-educated workforce in the area should attract tenants, who will enjoy 'plug and play' high-speed Internet connectivity and redundant power capabilities.

Concord's existing corporate business base includes Chevron, Siemens, and Bank of America. The city has more than three million sf of class A office space.
