BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI-William Pulte and Mark J. O’Brien have assumed lead roles at the home and multifamily developer Pulte Homes Inc. O’Brien succeeds Robert K. Burgess as president and chief executive officer following Burgess’ previously announced retirement effective Dec. 31.

Also effective with the start of the new year, the company’s founder, William J. Pulte, assumed the role of chairman of the board, a position that he has held previously.

“From last year’s strong business performance, to our merger with Del Webb to being named Builder of the Year, we enter 2002 with tremendous momentum and with opportunities to build on the results of 2001,” O’Brien says.
