ST. PAUL, MN-Minnesota Public Radio recently received two grants worth a total of $3 million to expand its headquarters facility in Downtown. The Saint Paul Foundation approved a $1 million grant for the new building, while the F.R. Bigelow Foundation approved a $2 million grant for the same purpose.

Last fall, the public radio organization said it would pay $7.9 million to buy a nearby 68,000 sf building at 480 Cedar St. from the Public Housing Agency of St. Paul. That will be joined to its present 45,000-sf facility, with plans to add an additional 37,000 sf ofspace, creating a 150,000-sf headquarters and production facility.
