Abrams says the Downtown initiative she is currently spearheading will be at the top of her agenda. "The Downtown Alliance, the New York Economic Development Corp. and REBNY have been coming together to develop different ways to serve people Downtown," Abrams says. "Those resources should be used so that the Stores Committee can put together a map of where the towers were and more importantly, which hotels, restaurants, businesses and retail shops were there and are still there today."

REBNY's Stores Committee, which puts out the board's semi-annual retail report, is a networking group composed solely of retail brokers and represents a cross-section of Manhattan firms. Abrams is a logical fit to chair the committee, according to REBNY senior vice president Eileen Spinola. "Robin Abrams has been a dynamic force in the committee," the SVP states. "She, along with a few others, really convinced the committee to put out a retail report. She banded together with three or four other people to get this off the ground and convince the committee that it was the right thing to do for themselves and the industry at large."
