"Telluride is moving to a seven-day-a-week stay destination market," says Fred J. Kleisner, chairman and chief executive officer for Wyndham. "Along with our partners, Wyndham has created one of the most comprehensive hotel products in Colorado: upscale to ultra-luxury accommodations.''
Wyndham's Telluride presence currently includes the 23-unit Cabins & Penthouses at the Peaks, the 174-room Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa and the 128-room Wyndham Mountain Lodge.
Constructed from log and stone and located adjacent to the Wyndham Peaks Resort & Golden Door Spa, The Cabins & Penthouses currently offers 11 cabins with multi-level floor plans housing three- to six-bedrooms.
The cabins include vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces, custom furniture, cable TV, top-of-the-line stereo systems, and steam showers.
There also are 12 penthouse condos on the upper floors of the Wyndham Peaks Resorts.
Phase II construction will include 35 new luxury cabins and condos (100 rooms) ranging in size from 1,500 sf to 5,000 sf, providing sweeping views of the San Juan Mountain Range.
A new 4,000-sf restaurant and lounge with observation deck also will be constructed.
Amenities include in-room butler and ski service, heated underground parking; a state-of-the-art communications system; heated walkways; designer kitchens; granite and flagstone accents throughout the guest units.
"When we developed Phase I of The Cabins a few years ago, it was to fill the need we saw for luxury accommodations in the Telluride market that could provide all the comforts of home with the services of the five-star resort," says John Abrams, managing member of Abrams Development Co. SFV, a joint venture company with See Forever, LLC. "As more and more people began to seek long-term, ultra-luxury accommodations in Telluride, the decision to develop Phase II at the Cabins was clear. The new units will provide more space, offer spectacular views, and be built in a log cabin village atmosphere complete with a new Main Lodge.
