The McRae's store will close in July and reopen as a Parisian store in August. The new store will be Saks' sixth Parisian in the Birmingham area. The others are in the Riverchase Galleria, the Summit, Eastwood Mall, Western Hills and Downtown. The company also operates three McRae's at Riverchase Galleria, Century Plaza and Roebuck Plaza.
The McRae's Brookwood store employs 100. Saks Inc. operates 41 Parisian department stores and 203 other department stores under the names Proffitt's, McRae's, Younkers, Herberger's, Carson Pirie Scott, Bergner's, and Boston Store.
