Smith Consulting Architects won awards during "The Finest Awards" program hosted by NAIOP, which drew 300 guests at the Hilton San Diego Resort on Mission Bay. The program was designed to pay tribute to San Diego¹s commercial real estate industry.
Six awards were presented to individuals who have made contributions to the industry, including Contractor of the Year, Architect of the Year, Broker of the Year, Member of the Year, Developer of the Year and the Mikey Carhart Lifetime Achievement Award.
The awards were based on the volume and quality of business conducted in the year 2001; professionalism with peers and within the community; civic activities with NAIOP and other charitable organizations; and unique, creative or noteworthy transaction/development in the year 2001.
Smith Consulting Architects won the Best Build-to-Suit Industrial/Manufacturing award for Callaway Golf -- Golf Ball Facility, a 210,000-sf manufacturing facility in Carlsbad; Best Flex Office/R&D for Bridge Pointe Corporate Center, a $90 million, 29-acre master-planned commercial development in the Golden Triangle area of San Diego; and Best Industrial/Manufacturing for Legacy Stowe Business Center, a 127,000-sf high-bay industrial building in Poway.
