''The only reason I'm not starting today is because my office isn't ready yet,'' Neiman tells GlobeSt.com.
At Inverness Properties, Neiman will be responsible for new business development and investment sales.
The 980-acre Inverness Business Park is the second oldest in the metro area. Only the Denver Technological Center to the north of Inverness is older.
''I was involved with Inverness since its inception,'' Neiman tells GlobeSt.com.
At first, he was a broker for Chicago-based Bennett & Kahnweiler Inc., the original marketing agent for Inverness. He later developed seven buildings at Inverness.
''Inverness is certainly recognized as a premier park with 6 million sf,'' Neiman tells GlobeSt.com. ''There's the ability to generate a very focused marketing plan that take into account at least what part T-Rex is going to play on the southeast corridor. We will come up with a plan to deliver a high level of services and meet our client's requests and demands.''
T-Rex is the $1.7 billion widening and addition of light rail along the southeast suburban corridor.
Neiman is close friends with John O'Meara and George Beardsley, co-founders of Inverness.
''We have known Brad since 1974 and greatly respect his accomplishments in our industry,'' Beardsley says. ''He's certainly no newcomer to Inverness having brokered and developed numerous properties in the park over the past 26 years.''
Neiman, 59, who is known for taking ''adventure vacations,'' such as climbing Mount Everest, says the challenge over the next two years is to ''maintain the strength of the properties with Inverness Properties' aggressive leasing and property management effort followed with a comprehensive investment sales program.''
Despite the current downturn in the commercial real estate market, the park has a vacancy rate about half the overall rate of about 15% for the southeast suburban market.
Buildings being leased by Inverness Properties have an average vacancy rate of less than 8%.
