Scheduled to open in 2004, the QFC project is part of a joint development venture between Milliken Development Corp. and Allen's Vulcan Inc.
The 975,000 square foot 2200 Westlake project will feature condominiums as well as retail and office space. Bounded by Westlake Avenue, Denny Way, Terry Avenue, Lenora Street and 9th Avenue, the development also will contain a 16,000 square foot landscaped plaza. The residential portion of the project consists of 260 condominium units, the majority of which will be contained in two 11-story residential towers.
The 2200 Westlake project focuses on offering high quality options for living, working and shopping. Vulcan officials say the project shows Vulcan's continued confidence in the future of the neighborhood, and opens the door for other developers to launch new projects to increase services for South Lake Union residents and business owners.
Allen has spent upwards of $100 million in developing his properties in the South Lake Union area. Groundbreaking on this particular 2200 Westlake project is slated for this summer.
