LONDON- Surrey County Council has agreed a ten-year lease for the 23,700-sf Opus 1 office development in Kingston Road, Leatherhead. A rent of £567,500 ($816,000) per annum was agreed, with a six-month rent free period.

This deal follows the earlier acquisition of the adjoining Opus 2–also developed by AXA REIM on behalf of Sun Life–where the council took occupation of in 2000. Agent Andrew MacLeod of BK, who advised Surrey County Council said: ‘The acquisition marks the end of a search to establish a new office for the county’s education department and follows on from other recent acquisitions by the council at the Omnibus Building in Reigate and Grosvenor House in Guildford.’.
