"Primarily, my focus will be on business development processes here in New York," Krasnow tells GlobeSt.com in an exclusive interview. "Understanding the needs of our clients, the talents of our brokers and the resources of our firm, and bringing all those to bear with the goal of increasing market share in all aspects of our business."
Krasnow, who has been promoted to senior managing director, will be responsible for leasing and sales transaction management, including coordinating C&W's New York brokerage work with its Advisory, Asset, Corporate and International Services, as well as the Strategic Ventures Group efforts. Based in Midtown, Krasnow will also coordinate client services and recruitment for the New York offices.
After joining C&W in 1987, he "spent the first 10 year of my career here in Midtown as a commercial leasing broker," before joining the management team as director of development five years ago, Krasnow says. Two years ago, he assumed his Connecticut and Long Island duties.
Now that he has returned to the city, Krasnow hopes to parlay the "big-picture" outlook he has gained along the way into a more effective strategy for bringing business into the firm. "Luckily, we have a lot of business opportunities in the pipeline," Krasnow tells GlobeSt.com. "My goal over the next couple of months is to target a couple of the opportunities we have on the table now and make some impact on new business we're currently pursuing."
And while the World Trade Center bombings altered the real estate strategies of many New York companies, Krasnow says he is uniquely qualified to develop business in the post-Sept. 11 marketplace. "Companies are strategically looking at how they use their real estate including split operations, satellite offices and datacenter backup facilities," he states. "This entire region is the canvas that a lot of these companies are looking to paint on. My knowledge of Westchester, Connecticut, Queens, Long Island, even New Jersey, is going to be useful to our brokers.
