WASHINGTON, DC-The National Park Services Administration will get a new headquarters now that the US General Services Administration has signed a lease for 219,750 sf of space at 1201 Eye Street, NW. The 10-year lease will allow more than 700 the Park Services employees to occupy 80% of the Franklin Square area building. Move-in to the 12-story structure is planned for September. GSA will shell out about a yearly average of $39.92 per-sf in rent to building owners.

GlobeSt.Com has learned that the lease process was concluded in a remarkably short period of time. Search for space began only after the September 11 terrorist attacks on the Pentagon, at which point the Park Service’s original relocation plans were changed.
