The new appointees are Robert Goldsmith, president and chief executive officer of People Inc. of Southwest Virginia; David Herkalo, executive director, Neighborhood Housing & Development Corp., Gainesville, FL; and Bernie Mazyck, president and chief executive officer of the South Carolina Association of Community Development.
Goldsmith is director of operations for People Incorporated of Southwest Virginia, a non-profit community action agency with a staff of 230.
Herkalo has experience in housing and community development, serving as executive director of the Housing Association Development Corp. for 17 years before joining the Neighborhood Housing & Development Corp.
Mazyck manages the operations and program activities of SCACDC, The South Carolina Association of Community Development Corporations. Before joining SCACDC, Mazyck was director of the Neighborhoods Energized to Win Fund; vice president of community development of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, and program manager in the employment and training department of the city of Charlotte.
The 15-member advisory group is chosen from housing and economic development organizations to help the bank increase home ownership and affordable housing in the South.
