Together, the three facilities cover nearly 700,000 sf.
The latest facility being built on McIntyre Road and West 58th Avenue here is on land Coors owns in its brewery complex. The Adolph Coors Co. is the parent of Coors Brewing Co.
The facility consists of 262,700-sf of refrigerated distribution space, 6,000 sf of office space and 9,280 sf of maintenance and mechanical service space.
The building, scheduled to open in September, will be used to distribute Coors products from the brewery to regional distributors. The Coors beer will be delivered by rail to the new facility and directly on to refrigerated trucks.
''We are pleased to develop a third facility for Coors Brewing Co.,'' says Jack Rizzo, managing director for ProLogis. ''This project is yet another example of our ability to provide design-build services to meet a variety of customer needs.''
Rizzo says he hopes that ProLogis can build other facilities for Coors throughout the US as needed.
In addition to this product, ProLogis is developing a 221,050-sf facility in Denver. Earlier, ProLogis developed a 200,000-sf distribution facility in Golden for Rocky Mountain Bottle Co., a joint venture operated by Owens-Brockway Glass Container and Coors Brewing.
ProLogis, based in Aurora, a city east of Denver, owns, operates or is developing a total of 204.6 million sf of distribution facilities in 99 markets throughout North America, Europe and Japan.
Coors was founded in 1873 and the nation's third largest brewer. It sells beer in North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
