DENVER-Matrix Bancorp Inc. will soon be the largest tenant in the Legacy Tower building at 17th and California streets in the heart of the Central Business District. Last fall, Matrix was forced to sell its Terracentre building on Speer Boulevard at the edge of the CBD to the city of Denver for $15 million.

The city wants the building for its $268-million doubling of the size of the adjacent Colorado Convention Center.

Although Matrix booked a quick $3.5-million profit on the sale, it still wanted to stay, Stephen Skiba, president and CEO of Matrix Bank tells GlobeSt.com.
