Partnership Plans up to $300 Mil in Hotel Buys

WASHINGTON, DC-The District welcomes a new hotel ownership and management company as four experienced industry insiders come together to form Smilezzzz Hospitality, Inc. The partnership will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwalk, CT’s HEI Hospitality, and will look to spend about $200-$300 million in lodging property acquisitions over the next 18 months.

The team behind the new company includes former COO of Washington, DC-based MeriStar Hospitality Corporation’s MeriStar Hotels & Resorts David E. McCaslin, former HEI Hotels CEO Gary Mendell, one-time HEI executive vice president of acquisitions Stephen Mendell, and HVS international president Stephen Rushmore.
