Realvest will target small companies inside and outside the real estate industry. "Given our current economic cycle, many companies, especially smaller companies, have a greater need now for seasoned financial expertise," Longstaff says in a prepared statement.

The new service will focus on financial consulting, strategic development, capital planning, earnings enhancement and debt restructuring.

Longstaff joined Maitland, FL-based Realvest last year. He previously was president of First National Bank of Central Florida in Winter Park, FL and founder/president of First Mercantile National Bank of Longwood, FL. Longstaff has an MBA (1972) from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollings College, Winter Park.
