The Coliseum Center, which was purchased by the privately owned real estate investment firm, is a 70,814-sf neighborhood shopping center located on Hegenberger Road. The shopping center is anchored by a 58,000-sf grocery store and includes tenants such as McDonald's, Midas Muffler and Taco Bell.

"There was a tremendous amount of interest in the offering," says Daniel Wald of BT Commercial, who represented both the buyer and seller in the transaction. "While demand for office and R&D product has been negatively affected by the local tech- and dot-com-driven recession, the market for Bay Area retail is red-hot, and sellers should remain in a strong position throughout 2002."
