The $50-mil project held a grand opening this week.
The hub will serve as the Western North American Distribution Center supplying its retail stores from San Diego to western Canada with approximately 5,250 container shipments of IKEA furnishings and accessories annually.
The first phase of the IKEA Tejon Terminal will provide up to 150 jobs and contribute to the region's economic development. IKEA chose to locate to Tejon Industrial Complex because of its affordable transportation costs and superior North-South logistics network along Interstate 5. The available labor and optimal location, at the intersection of I-5 and Hwy 99, were also critical factors in the site selection process for IKEA.
