The deal allows Colony Homes to place an information kiosk in the mall, staffed by Colony sales representatives. Placing a sales staff in a mall is the first such move for the company.

Concord Mills is a 1.4 million sf mall with 200 retailers. The mall is at the intersection of Interstate 85, in Concord, NC, 10 miles north of Charlotte. Anchors include Books-A-Million and Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World.

This is the second such non-traditional move for the homebuilder. In Atlanta, Colony Homes is partnering with the Atlanta Thrashers and Carolina Hurricanes professional hockey teams as sponsor.

"Concord Mills provides us with an extraordinary window to a target audience we might not otherwise reach," Colony vice president of marketing Andrea Anker says in a written statement.

Atlanta-based Colony Homes says it is the largest privately owned homebuilder in the Southeast. The company opened a Charlotte office in 1998.

Its Charlotte area developments include Back Creek Chase on Back Creek Church Road. Colony specializes in entry-level homes priced in the low $100,000s. During 2001, its third year of operation in Charlotte, Colony sold 300 homes.
