Barkan, who has been in the commercial real estate industry for 14 years, specializes in the sale and leasing of commercial properties. In addition to a primary focus representing high profile tenants on Los Angeles's Westside, he is very active advising and representing both tenants and owners in strategic real estate planning, real estate counseling and acquisition and disposition strategies for both portfolios and single assets. Barkan has been with Grubb & Ellis since 1995.
Prior to joining Grubb & Ellis, Barkan was a Managing Director at Wilrock Realty and before that Director of Douglas Elliman Appraisal and Consulting Division. He began his career in New York City with James Felt Realty Services, A Grubb & Ellis Company. His real estate experience includes brokerage, appraisal, consulting & property management.
In further people news, the San Fernando Valley office of CB Richard Ellis welcomes Don Hudson, in his new position as managing director. Hudson plans to focus on recruitment and new business development initiatives.
Hudson has over 25 years of sales experience. His interpersonal skills and expertise in lease negotiations and strategy development for both owners and tenants were key to his hire, according to senior managing director of the Los Angeles region, Lewis Horne.
Before moving to the San Fernando Valley office, Hudson was the Director of Leasing for Warner Center Properties in Woodland Hills. While there he managed a leasing campaign for the 2.3 million sf Master-Planned Office Project. This project is one of the largest office projects in the Los Angeles region. Additionally, Hudson has also represented such high profile institutions and corporations such as Arthur Andersen, U.S.C., Accenture, and the former First Interstate Bank.
The San Fernando Valley office also announced its new Office Services Administrator, Stanley Anderson. Anderson will be working closely with Hudson in the organization of the office and continued growth of their producers.
