Johnson & Jennings General Contracting has tenant improvement construction nearly complete for the renovation of the main lobby of the 225 Broadway building. SENTRE Partners, property manager of the 22-story high-rise building, is overseeing the $600,000 project.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of this month. It's part of a slew of construction and renovation projects under way in the Downtown area.
The renovation of the 2,000-sf lobby will feature a new floating ceiling, granite and stone flooring and concrete plaster walls. The entry area will house a new guard console constructed of cold-rolled steel with aluminum cladding, and a plasma screen television to air news broadcasts from NBC 7/39, which has offices, a broadcast studio, and production facilities also located in the building. Fiber-optic lighting will be installed at the elevator lobby and at the guard console.
Mike Harrison is serving as project manager for Johnson & Jennings, with Butch Miller as the on-site superintendent. Matt Callison is the space planner and subcontractors include Bergelectric, Wageman Company, Inc., Interior Specialties, B & B Acoustics, Inc., California Sheet Metal Works, Inc., Monroe Companies, San Diego Services and South Bay Welding.
