Department stores have been reluctant to commit to the project, according to the reports. The mall was proposed as a 150-acre, 1.3 million sf mall in Newnan, a booming suburb southwest of Atlanta. The proposed mall property is off Interstate 85, between Bullsboro Drive and Lower Fayetteville Road.

Since 1999, metro Atlanta has added four malls: the Mall of Georgia in Buford, Discover Mills in Duluth, The Mall at Stonecrest in Lithonia and Arbor Place mall in Douglas County. Arbor Place also was developed by CBL.
