During fiscal 2001, Patriot was on pace to deliver about 350 homes at an average sales price of $275,000.
Lennar has been on a buying spree. In December, the company announced it had acquired the Fortress Group's homebuilding operations, including Raleigh, NC-based Sunstar Homes, in North and South Carolina for a gross purchase price of about $50 million. Aside from Sunstar Homes, the sale includes Don Galloway Homes' operations in the Charlotte and Charleston markets.
Lennar has homebuilding operations in 15 states under several brand names, including U.S. Home, Greystone, Village Builders, Renaissance, Orrin Thompson, Lundgren Bros., Winncrest, Sunstar Communities, Don Galloway Homes and Rutenberg Homes.
