The relocation increases Minnesota Institute of Public Health's capacity to safeguard and protect the public health, says Jerry Jaker, Minnesota Institute of public health director. Founded in 1972, Minnesota Institute of Public Health creates materials and offers training and consultation in the areas of gambling, alcohol abuse in youth, Native American health care programs, traffic safety, mental health, sexually transmitted diseases, homeland security, tobacco and drug abuse prevention, and gun violenceprevention.
Major clients for Minnesota Institute of Public Health include the US Center of Substance Abuse Prevention, US Department of Transportation, Health and HumanServices and Education, the Robert Weed Johnson Foundation of New Jersey, the Joyce Foundation of Chicago and many of Minnesota's state agencies.
Since 1998, Minnesota Institute of Public Health has been an affiliated company of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota.
