Located in the 630-acre Columbia Gateway Business Park, the structure is in the same complex as Lurgi Lentjes's previous home at 6716 Alexander Bell Dr. The tenant, COPT's Cathy Ward explains to GlobeSt.com, is a growing business and was eager to acquire more space. "We collapsed the smaller lease in order to help the tenant expand and grow within our portfolio," Ward says. The new lease is for a 10-year term, but Ward is not at liberty to discuss the financial terms of the transaction. "It was a market transaction; I can't really add specifics." In May of 2001, COPT acquired the 30,855-sf building as part of a three-structure portfolio purchase totaling 142,000-sf for $15.2 million. As for the German-owned company's vacated space at 6716, Ward says, "we have it on the market for when they vacate, but we don't have it back-filled yet."
