The mission of the zone is to fund and support economic development and human services programs for Empowerment Zone residents by forming collaborative partnerships.
The mayor, EZDC chairperson Sharon McWhorter and EZDC executive director Larry Givens will speak about the Empowerment Zone, its future and its affect on city residents. Zone residents will hear a number of success stories from fellow residents whose quality of life has been improved as a direct result of zone programs.
In addition, Empowerment Zone program directors, representatives of the EZ Neighborhood Review Panel and EZDC staff will provide information about Empowerment Zone programs and services.
