The Denver-based Invesco Funds Group left the space at the end of 2001.

Invesco, a large family of mutual funds, had been leasing nearly the entire building. Invesco built its own building on the other side of Interstate 25 in the Denver Technological Center.

Equity Office was able to finalize the Washington Group deal even before Invesco's departure.

Kim Koehn, senior vice president of the Denver region for Equity Office, says he's pleased Washington Group decided to move its headquarters to his campus of twin, 11-sotry buildings with a total of 358,000 sf of rentable space.

''We're focusing on building long-term relationships with our customers that support immediate and future space needs,'' Koehn says.

Adds John Schimek, director of real estate for the Washington Group, ''Our decision to relocate to Denver Corporate Center was based on the attractiveness of the area and Equity Office's ability to accommodate our space need and criteria with the existing infrastructure we required.''

Denver Corporate Center II and II are in the Denver Technological Center, near the intersections of I-25 and I-225.
