The move allows the firm to house its consumer, health care and research practices, previously located in St. Paul's World Trade Center, within the same building.
Padilla Speer Beardsley employs 83 people, including staff in the firm's New York City office.
Since 1970, Padilla Speer Beardsley corporate headquarters had been located within two historic Georgian mansions at 224 West Franklin Ave. Those mansions have been put up for sale, says John Mackay, a Padilla Speer Beardsley executive.
The company's new headquarters, located one block south of the planned new site for the Guthrie Theater, occupies the top two floors of a new office building built with Padilla Speer Beardsley as the major tenant. The site is along the banks of the Mississippi River near the city's historic Stone Arch Bridge and Mill Ruins area as well as the city's Downtown skyline.
Lynn Casey, chief executive officer of the company, says growth was the primary factor in the firm's decision to vacate its crowded 30-year headquarters.

Ryan Companies designed, built and is the property owner of the building at 1101 West River Pkwy. Perkins & Will designed the Padilla Speer Beardsley offices and Keewaydin Real Estate Advisors served as the company's real estate consultant.
