Located in the city's Old Town area, the 15-year-old building offers 156,207 sf of office space on six floors. Starbase took on the space last year when it acquired the Alexandria-based company worldweb.net, which had moved into the offices in July 2000 after experiencing record growth. "We are reviewing every single recurring expense to reduce both the short and long-term liabilities for the company," Starbase president and COO Jim Harrer explains in a statement. In return for its release from the lease contract, Starbase will give up its $1.1 million restricted cash deposit and will leave behind some office furniture.
