Visteon Feels at Home Near $100-Mil Project

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, MI-A $100-million residential and retail development is under construction near the potential site for Ford Motor Co.'s former parts branch's headquarters, built with the help of a $31-million tax abatement.

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, MI-A $100 million mixed-use development here may be getting a boost if a major automotive supply company builds its new headquartersnearby. Walden Woods at Tyler and Morton Taylor roads will have 300 single-family homes, another 200 multifamily units and 100,000 sf of retail.

The new subdivision is going well, says Stuart Michaelson, president of Windmill Group of Farmington Hills. His company is building the project.

Right now, the home building is in its third phase. He says the multifamily and retail components will be added later, along with a swim club facility and landscaping.
