Anderson Leaving $200,000 Job at Enterprise Florida

ORLANDO-The former president/CEO of the Beacon Council in Miami plans to go into private business with his wife, Margaret Megee, a tourism development executive. The state's chief development organization is looking nationally for Anderson's replacement.

ORLANDO-John C. Anderson, credited with helping to create 260,000 high-paying jobs and $2.1 billion in export sales, is leaving his $200,000 job June 30 as president/CEO of Enterprise Florida Inc., the state’s principal economic development organization.

His Jan. 30 resignation letter to Gov. Jeb Bush, Enterprise Florida’s chairman, cites plans to change careers after 30 years in trade and economic development work and partner in a new business with wife Margaret Megee, a tourism development executive.

Anderson, 63, headed Orlando-based Enterprise Florida for the last six years. Enterprise officials are scouting nationally for his replacement.
