"We liked the area and we think the Fauquier County region is lacking viable office space for people who don't want to commute," company president Rajai Zumot explains to GlobeSt.com. "We like the concept of the village style Vint Hill Economic Development Authority [VHEDA] has put in place, and we want to be a part of it." About $3.5 million has been allotted for renovating the 80,000-sf building, and the Zumot has already invested an additional $300,000 into upgrading SAIC's building. SAIC has a 5-year lease on the property.

The two structures Zumot purchased are among the few buildings that will remain standing at Vint Hill once VHEDA completes redevelopment of the vast site which was once a US Army base. "Of the 1.2 million sf of available space, only 400,000 sf of that could be reused," says VEHDA's Pat White. "300,000 sf of that 400,000 sf is currently leased; of that 300,000 sf, maybe 100,000 sf will be permanently part of the park.
