Fund II, Barrow Street's second real estate investment fund, will invest in medium-size real estate deals in selected US markets with local operating partners. Clients of General Motors Asset Management, including the General Motors Pension Trusts, are significant investors in the fund.
Newly hired CFO Gaines comes to Barrow Street from Sterling Equities, a Great Neck, NY-based real estate investment and management firm where she was controller since 1995. Prior to Sterling, Gaines was controller of the Related Cos. LP.
Since 1997, Barrow Street has completed $469 million in US real estate transactions including 3.5 million sf of office, industrial, R&D, multifamily, manufactured housing, parking and retail properties. The firm's senior management team includes chairman Peter C. Krause and managing principals Nicholas Chermayeff and Robert F. Greenhill, Jr. Its parent company, Greenhill & Co., is a merchant bank specializing in financial advisory, restructuring and private equity transactions. Greenhill has offices in New York, London and Frankfurt.
