The Container Store, which is headquartered in Dallas, is currently building out the site at the Town Centre Corte Madera that was vacated by J.C. Penney. The store, which will be the company's second Northern California location, is scheduled to open in June 2002. The company also has a Walnut Creek store.
Sandra Weck of Colliers International represented The Container Store in the transaction, while Joel Mayer represented Madison Marquette. "This is Collier's second transaction with a company that is expanding in the Bay Area," says Sandra Weck, vice president at Colliers International. "The lease shows that retail companies are still bullish on the overall outlook of the economy."
