Mark Hail, the credit union's marketing vice president, tells GlobeSt.com, that the branch, its seventh, will serve its growing membership in the southwest Austin area. It has 65,000 members in the Austin area and more than $370 million in assets.
Construction is set to begin later this month or in March, with an opening planned by September. The facility will have four remote teller stations and eight drive-up lanes, which will include two ATMs, and state-of-the-art digital lighting technology. The project's architect is St. Louis-based HBE Financial Facilities and the engineering firm is Howard Engineering.
Eric DeJernett, retail specialist at NAI/Commercial Industrial Properties Co. in Austin, represented the credit union in the transaction. "Southwest Austin is underserved by commercial services," DeJernett said. "William Cannon is one of the only roadways that connects I-35 and Highway 290 and this site will allow AATFCU to serve its large client base in the area.
