Credit Union Buys 3.1 Acres for SW Austin Branch

AUSTIN-The Austin Area Teachers Federal Credit Union is making plans for a construction start on a 5,700-sf branch at the junction of William Cannon and Escarpment boulevards. The seventh location will open by September.

AUSTIN-The Austin Area Teachers Federal Credit Union has bought 3.1 acres in Southwest Austin for a new branch building. A 5,400-sf structure will go up on the northeast corner of William Cannon and Escarpment boulevards just west of Texas 290 in the Oak Hill area.

Mark Hail, the credit union’s marketing vice president, tells GlobeSt.com, that the branch, its seventh, will serve its growing membership in the southwest Austin area. It has 65,000 members in the Austin area and more than $370 million in assets.
