Right behind Midland, a subsidiary of Pittsburgh, PA-based PNC Financial Services Group, is CapMark Services LP with $64.4 billion. CapMark is a subsidiary of New York-based Lend Lease Real Estate Investments.

Rounding out the top five servicers are GEMSA Loan Services, a limited partnership affiliate of Houston-based L.J. Melody & Co., with $54.5 billion; Wachovia Securities, Atlanta, $48.1 billion; and Orix Capital Markets, Dallas, $37.6 billion.

The largest servicers for life insurance carriers and other private institutional investors were GEMSA, $34.6 billion; CapMark, $28.2 billion; Prudential Asset Resources, Newark, NJ, $15.7 billion; Midland, $11 billion and Principal Financial Group, Des Moines, IA, $10.6 billion.
