Buses now operate from the new East Metro Transit Facility on St. Paul's East Side.
The prime location, on the north side of Interstate 94 east of Snelling Avenue, will be redeveloped following demolition, which is expected to last through summer. On four of the 9.5 acres at the site, Metro Transit will build a garage that can accommodate 100buses.
Uses for the remaining land are being proposed and will be evaluated by the Metropolitan Council, city of St. Paul and neighborhood groups.
