Lab Proposals Make Life Sciences Corridor Cut

DETROIT-Organizations behind 111 pre-proposals are now invited to submit full proposals by March 28. They include three groups seeking $7.2 million to build new research facilities.

DETROIT-Three groups have requested about $7.2 million in funding for new laboratory facilities from the Michigan Life Sciences Corridor steering committee. The committee says applicants who submitted 111 pre-proposals requesting more than $200 million in funding from the 2002 Michigan Life Sciences Corridor Fund have now been invited to submit full proposals.

This list has been pared down from the initial 297 pre-proposals requesting more than $380 million in Corridor funds.

This year, the committee expects to award about $45 million in funds to support projects in basic research, applied research and commercialization.
